The CWGC looks after graves, memorials and cemeteries worldwide, and Gary Short, our speaker tonight, will inform us about its work. The Commission started during the First World War, continued during the Second World War and now maintains and preserves its historic estate around the world. We’ll hear about ongoing commemoration today, and stories about the men and women who lost their lives in the two world wars.
Soldiers, sailors and airmen from Cropredy are remembered at Helles (for Gallipoli); Tyne Cot (pictured above); Gaza; Cambrai; Salerno; Anzio; Lissenthoed, Belgium and El Alamein.
